Inspired by the legendary "Mad" Max Suter-Mckay of Manaia, this Hazy IPA celebrates a local character known for his love of quirky Citroëns and unconventional salesmanship. Swapping Citroën for citrus, Shining Peak Brewing showcases Manilita, a new experimental hop from Freestyle, delivering bright, vibrant hop character in a soft and juicy hazy IPA. Port Taranaki's own salty puss - 'Colin's' the cat shot to fame in 2001 when a free feed saw her accidentally stow away on the methanol tanker 'Tomiwaka' - bound for Korea. The chatty tortoiseshell snoozed her way out of the country and into national headlines, sparking daily updates, TV appearances, and an international rescue mission. A true local legend, she lived out her days at the tanker terminal. This salted Raspberry Gose tips a hat to Colin's the Cat - the original Saline Feline.

Work smarter, not harder - an idiom that Lou Butler Sr fixated on as he sat, drawing machinery designs with chalk on his workshop floor. The Inglewood man would go on to invent a machine that would take sword to said thorny bush. Dealing to hedges that were sometimes 20 metres wide, the Butler Bros trimmer wielded a 3.5m blade and a steel cage to protect the operator from flying debris, and was mounted on Bren-Gun Carriers, Tanks and Army Trucks, no doubt raising eyebrows from their Windsor Road Neighbours.
